Finishing the Task
Updated: Jan 11, 2020
I don't know about you, but whenever I finish something, I feel a major weight lifted off my shoulders. Before, the task seemed almost impossible or painfully hard to complete and sometimes I just want to give up. Unfortunately, that does happen a couple times here and there. But that's okay because I at least tried, right?
I have had the craziest, most exhausting semester so far. I'm finally halfway through the semester, and I can't wait for it to end, but I still have a couple weeks left. I can feel my fire start to fizzle out. But then today, out of nowhere, I got the motivation to get a lot done and like I had mentioned at the beginning of this post, the weight was lifted off my shoulders.
But here's something we need to keep mind that I think we forget sometimes: God is helping us. He is always there and helping lift that weight.
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy ad my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
I really love this verse because Jesus is really truly reminding us that He is here for us and He will help us carry that weight.
I don't know about you, but I find that to be really comforting. Whenever we feel like we can't carry the weight, we can always turn to Jesus and He will always be there to help us carry it.
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." 2 Corinthians 4:17
So here's the challenge for this week: Are we just going to let the weight crush us, or are we going to give it to God? Write down a few things you're overwhelmed by on a piece of paper every day this week. Then next week, two weeks, or even a month, the time is up to you, look back at it and see what God helped you with it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, friends.
Like always, I hope you have a amazing rest of your day and week. Remember to keep smiling. You never know who will need it.
God bless.
